I had the chance to meet many experienced mentors and assistants on site during the Educathon. With many guests and thought leaders on subjects ranging from pedagogy, entrepreneurship, gamification, and immersive technologies, the Educathon fostered a true interdisciplinary environment and took place from April 5 to 7 at the Bahcesehir University.

The hackathon brought together teachers, software developers, and interdisciplinary designers to explore and prototype immersive tools and applications that will improve education today.

The inaugural Educathon focused on Augmented Reality, with mixed teams of educators and creatives conceiving, designing, and executing their educational AR prototypes over the course of 48 hours. At the end of the 48 hours, projects were presented and scored according to educational, technical, user experience, and scalable criteria. The three highest scoring projects, chosen by a jury of experts, were awarded prizes.
