This summer, Bora Sezer had the privilege of leading the workshop Crafting the Future: Mastering Design-Oriented Virtual Reality at the Istanbul American Robert College 2025 Summer Academy (RCS Academy).

During the week-long workshop, participants immersed themselves in the world of design-oriented VR, learning the fundamentals of XR technology and envisioning its future potential. Students received hands-on training in modeling 3D environments directly within VR, gaining skills essential for game level design, industrial product visualization.

Working collaboratively within the same virtual environment, the students designed and built a vibrant virtual world made up of three interconnected islands; an impressive achievement completed entirely during the workshop. The project reflected not only their creativity and technical skill but also the collaborative spirit and problem-solving mindset nurtured throughout the program.

The RCS Academy is an English-language summer program that brings together exceptional faculty, staff, and guest instructors to deliver innovative half-day workshops in STEAM and leadership. The program promotes values such as respect, empathy, sportsmanship, and care for the environment, while giving participants the opportunity to develop new skills and interests in a supportive, engaging setting.

I am proud to have contributed to this mission by introducing students to the creative and technical possibilities of Virtual Reality and inspiring the next generation of designers and innovators.
