OzU AI Week 2025 brought together academia, industry, and students for an inspiring week of discussions, panels, and workshops exploring the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Hosted at Özyeğin University, the event served as a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and envisioning the role of AI in shaping the future.
As the first in a year-long series of AI-focused events, OzU AI Week 2025 featured leading experts from diverse fields who offered valuable perspectives on how artificial intelligence is reshaping creativity, ethics, and technology. We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers and participants who contributed to this engaging and thought-provoking week.
Among the highlights was the session “AI, Cinema, and the Politics of Illusion: Deepfakes Between Social Construction and Legal Boundaries,” presented by Bora Sezer from the Faculty of Architecture and Design and Müge Çetin from the Faculty of Law. The session explored how AI-generated deepfakes are transforming cinematic language and challenging traditional notions of authenticity, authorship, and reality in visual culture. The conversation also examined the ethical and legal implications of these technologies, how they blur the boundaries between art and manipulation, creativity and deception.
OzU AI Week 2025 marks the beginning of Özyeğin University’s year-long journey into the future of artificial intelligence and its social, artistic, and cultural dimensions.
